The City of Port Hueneme will host a free community workshop devoted to improving the Internet service to the community. It will take place on Friday, February 3, at 4:00 pm at the Orvene Carpenter Community Center at 550 Park Avenue. The City has engaged consultants — Government Technology Group (GTG) — to prepare a Broadband Master Plan which will show how the City can upgrade Internet speed and reliability to those residents and businesses who need or desire it. The GTG consultants will present an overview of what a master plan is based on and what it will produce for the City. They will explain broadband and its many related issues, will answer questions from residents about broadband, and will seek input from attendees on current conditions and desired levels of service. For residents unable to attend this workshop, a repeat event will take place at the end of February, date to be announced, as a Zoom-based meeting.
