At approximately 11:45pm, Port Hueneme Police Dispatch received an anonymous call from a concerned citizen regarding glass breaking to the rear of the 2500 block of Edgerton Lane. Responding Patrol Officers checked the area of the Harbor Lights community and observed a subject monitoring their investigative efforts from inside a residence in the 480 block of Harbor Lights Lane.
The officers focused their efforts on the subject watching them. A perimeter was established around the residence and as officers attempted to contact the homeowners, they noticed that the front kitchen window was broken and could hear items breaking inside. A male subject then appeared at the front window.
The subject initially refused to cooperate with repeated requests to exit the residence, but eventually complied prior to a department K9 being deployed inside. Further investigation revealed that the suspect forced entry into the residence and proceeded to vandalize the home causing extensive damage.
The suspect, Timothy Burke (31 years) of Oxnard, was arrested and transported to the Ventura County Main Jail facing charges of Burglary, Felony Vandalism, and being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.
