The Port Hueneme Police Department and the City of Port Hueneme Recreation Department are gearing up for their third annual Cops for Tots toy giveaway in the City of Port Hueneme. This event is designed to bring hope and joy to the children in our community.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, December 21, from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Orvene Carpenter Community Center located at 550 Park Avenue. This event has been moved ...to the morning hours and will now allow for increased child safety and additional activities for the children. The event served nearly 800 children last year and is expecting 1,000 children this year. The event serves children between the ages of infant and 12 years of age. Each child must register for the event and show proof of residency in the City of Port Hueneme(military bases included) or South Oxnard. Please see the attached flyer for registration dates and requirements.

These types of events and programs are not possible without the gracious donations from private businesses and community based organizations such as the Port Hueneme Peace Officers' Association, the Port of Hueneme, REACH, Freedom First Association, Hueneme Patient Care, Safe Port, From the Earth, Lujan Transportation, the Law Offices of Charles Green, Robert Mann Packaging, and Jakks Pacific. We are still looking for additional sponsors to help put forth a memorable event.

Donation toy bins will be set up at City Hall, the Orvene Carpenter Community Center, and the lobby of the Port Hueneme Police Department beginning Monday, November 18th. If you would like to make a financial contribution, donations may be made at the front counter of the Port Hueneme Police Department.

Your support and donation will make this endeavor to serve the children of Port Hueneme a successful one. If you have any questions, please contact our Recreation Program Manager Anna Hanely at (805) 986-6677.
