[ARCHIVED] Notice of Fishing Pier Repair Project

These repairs are being implemented to replace piles that failed due to extensive sand erosion and overstressing. The pier has been closed to the public since late April.

The contractor for the project, Cushman Contracting Corporation, will fence off a portion of Parking Lot B near the pier to use as a work area for their equipment and materials.

Work will generally take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is expected that the repairs will be complete and the pier will be reopened before the end of the year.

Residents should expect to experience some noise and vibration in the vicinity of the work while the new piles are being driven into the sand. We appreciate your patience and understanding during construction so that the pier can be opened again as soon as possible.

Should you have any questions about the project, please contact Denis Murrin, Facilities Maintenance Superintendent, at (805) 986-6557 or by email:
