Port Hueneme Chamber of Commerce
Origins
Incorporation of the Port Hueneme Chamber of Commerce took place in 1940, and its original Board of Directors was the driving force behind the incorporation of the City of Port Hueneme in 1948. The mission of the Port Hueneme Chamber of Commerce is to be a dynamic business organization striving to promote growth, prosperity and a quality of life for our members and community.
Services
Through its various committees, the Chamber serves as a public relations representative of business. Chamber officials act as an information center for the area by greeting newcomers and answering questions about:
- Employment
- Housing
- Recreation and other community amenities
- Schools
- Shopping
Provided year round from the Chamber are:
- Directories
- Historical
- Maps
- Membership applications
- Referral for goods or services
- Relocation packets
- Tourist information.
The Chamber promotes local special events and grand openings, and holds monthly business networking breakfasts, mixers, and an annual awards dinner.
Involvement
The Port Hueneme Chamber of Commerce is a member of the Chamber of Commerce Alliance of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, to keep its members informed on issues and communicate with elected officials on business related legislation. A monthly newsletter is published and distributed to members and available at the Chamber office for visitors and prospective business owners. The Chamber News is also available via email.
Members may advertise in the monthly newsletter and may also display brochures and business cards at the Chamber. Business members receive a listing on the Chamber's website and the Chamber's Community Guide and Business Directory.
