Orvene S. Carpenter Community Center
Facility Rental Information
This state-of-the-art facility is located next to the Ray Prueter Library and Bubbling Springs Park. The Community Center features a large auditorium with a stage, kitchen facilities, outside patio, children’s play area and meeting rooms available for rent. This information can be viewed in English or Spanish.

Classes and Programs
Recreation offers many programs in the arts that inspire. We offer Art, Dance and a variety of classes for tots, teens, and adults, as well as for our Senior Citizens. We offer a variety of programs during the week (days and evenings). If you have any question about classes, please call (805) 986-6542 or stop by the center and pick up a copy of Hueneme Magazine.
Senior Nutrition Information
All seniors age 60 and over who are unable to prepare their own meals because of physical disabilities and are homebound are eligible for home delivered meals. This service is provided by the City of Port Hueneme’s Senior Nutrition Program. Nutritious meals are delivered to the home. Suggested donated cost per meal is $2.75 (including delivery). Port Hueneme Historical Museum
The Port Hueneme Historical Museum is located at 220 Market Street in Port Hueneme. Built in 1925, the Museum houses historical artifacts, photographs, and information on the history of the Hueneme area. Architect Myron Hunt designed the building, and he was also responsible for designing the Bard Mansion, Huntington Library, and the Ambassador Hotel.
The Museum is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Moday - Friday (corresponding to the office hours of the Chamber of Commerce). Displays are maintained by the Department of Recreation and Community Services and the Historical Commission. Tours are by appointment only. Call (805) 488-2023 or send an e-mail to e-mail.
