Hi, I am Senior Officer Paul Gomez. I am your new Beat Coordinator. I have been with the Port Hueneme Police Department for thirteen years. My past assignments have included, traffic, gangs, Field Training Officer, Reserve Officer Program Advisor, and Police Explorer Advisor. My current assignment is patrol and Coordinator for Beat 3. Monthly, I will keep you informed of certain crimes that have occurred in Beat 3.

Message from your Beat 3 Coordinator

After reviewing statistics for the month of October, I wanted to share what has been going on in Beat 3.

• 0 Robberies compared to 0 last month.
• 0 Residential Burglaries compared to 1 last month.
• 1 Commercial Burglary compared to 1 last month.
• 3 Auto Burglaries compared to 1 last month.
• 0 Assaults compared to 1 last month.
• 3 Petty Thefts compared to 2 last month.
• 0 Grand Thefts compared to 0 last month.
• 0 Stolen Vehicles compared to 1 last month.
• 0 Acts of Arson compared to 1 last month.
• 5 Acts of Vandalism compared to 7 last month.

This past month, the area of Seaview Street saw a sharp increase in burglary related incidents. The auto burglaries took place in the 200 block of South Ventura Road, 100 block of Seaview Street, and the 200 block of North Second Street. Two of the petty thefts also took place in same vicinity.

Patrol is being proactive in addressing this issue, but we need your help when it comes to report suspicious activity and/or people in your neighborhood. The vandalism dropped by two incidents but remains relatively high. Three of the five incidents took place in the area of the 250 block of North Third Street.
